Fry’s Hockey club is now launching an under 11's hockey
course running for six weeks on Sunday mornings between 2nd March and 6th
April (9.30am–10.30am).
This course will introduce those in years 6 and
below to the basic skills required to play hockey and give them a taster
of this great team game.
The course will be lead by a number of our level one
club coaches with support from level two coach England Hockey Avon and
Gloucestershire Development Manager, Sheriden Gyde.
The cost for this course is £30. In the first
instance we are limiting places to 35 so request that you respond to us as
soon as possible. In order to secure your place please send the
attached slips with the accompanying payment (cheques made payable to Frys
Hockey Club) to the address below by 1st March.
Fry's Hockey Club, 10 Oram Court, Barrs Court,
Bristol BS30 7AH. Cheques made payable to Fry's Hockey Club. These
can be brought to the pitch on Sunday 2nd March.

What to wear
- Sports Clothing: Trainers/astroturf
trainers, shorts/skirt, t-shirt/training top/tracksuit. Football or
studded boots must not be worn.
- Shin pads MUST be worn whenever playing/training
for hockey. Gum shields are strongly recommended. Please speak to the
coaching team if you have any queries about equipment.
- Do not wear watches/earrings/other jewellery.
There will be a bag on pitch side for valuables to be left in, although
the security of this is not the responsibility of either the coaches,
the school or Fry's Hockey Club.

What to bring
- A drink, preferably water, there will be
breaks to take on liquid throughout the session.
- A hockey stick, if you have one. We will provide a
selection of sticks each week, so you do not need to purchase one.

Mobile phones
These must be switched off or not
responded to during the coaching session. The coaches will have a file
containing emergency contact details should this be needed. |

Toilets/Changing rooms
These are available on-site although are
some distance from the pitch. Should children wish to use them, the
coaches will advise of where they are, but will not accompany children
to them. |

Illness/Injury
Should your child be ill and miss a session we are not able to refund
the course payment, however in extreme circumstances we may review this
policy. It is you/your child's responsibility to inform
the coaches of any injury/illness that could impact on their ability to
train before the session starts.
