Child Protection Policy

Fry's Hockey Club is committed to implementing good practice which will protect young people from harm. All members, officers, coaches and volunteers should accept and recognise their responsibility, under the Protection of Children’s Act 1989, to provide the safest possible environment for children and young people.

The club implements this policy by:

Adhering to the CHILD SAFE Child Protection Policy.
Recognising that all children have the right to freedom from abuse.
Creating an awareness of the issues which may lead to children and young people being harmed.
Appointing child protection officers who will take specific responsibility for child protection and act as the main contact point for parents, children, coaches, leaders and outside agencies.
Ensuring that all our volunteers and staff are carefully selected and accept responsibility for helping to prevent the abuse of children in their care.
Ensuring that all coaches, leaders and officials adopt the CHILD SAFE guidelines for safeguarding children’s welfare.
Responding swiftly and appropriately to all suspicions or allegations of abuse, providing parents and children with the opportunity to voice any concerns which they may have.
Keeping up to date with the CHILD SAFE guidelines as well as current good practice and guidance on coaching, teaching and leading.
