Pick Up Sticks Evening |
 |
|
The club held a recruitment drive as our part of the
Keynsham and Saltford Sports Network. You can download the
information leaflet that we handed out to
everyone that came along. We will be considering getting more of
these printed. The evening itself was a
fantastic success (thanks to everyone that came along to help),
particularly for the men's section with over 20 potential new members
turning up - it seems that we'll have no problem running our new Men's
2nd XI next season.
We also had a few girls and ladies appear but the
relative lack of new ladies remains a source of concern for the Club
which we will be discussing at the next Committee Meeting. If
members have any ideas on this subject, please get in touch.

Men get a 2nd XI |
|
|
It has now been confirmed by the N4 Hockey League
that Fry's will be permitted to enter a 2nd XI (to be known as Fry's A
XI) into the Bristol and North West Somerset Division 3 as from
September 2010. This is fantastic news for the development of
men's and boys' hockey in the local area.
Although we have already identified various new
potential members, there is still plenty of space for new men or boys to
join us. Please contact
Glen Jennings (1st
XI) captain or Richard May
(vice-chair) for further information.

Men's squad promoted |
 |
| Congratulations to the
Men's squad who have been guaranteed promotion from the Bristol and NW
Somerset division 2 to Bristol NW Somerset division 1 next season.
This followed their 9-1 victory over Bristol and West D. The final
result of the season against Somerset Gryphons will determine whether
they become league champions of not.
