Need a new hockey stick? |
 |
|
A representative from
Woodworm Hockey
will be present at the first training session (see below) to give advice to
members who want to purchase new sticks for the coming season.
Woodworm offer an extensive range of hockey sticks,
clothing and teamwear that accommodate both top-flight players as well as
the novice. They own the right to produce Grays hockey sticks under the
Woodworm branding, so not only are you actually buying a Grays stick, it
would be cheaper as well!
All sticks can be personally branded to your
specification, so you could have any colour that you want and also your name
and number on it!! Have a look at their website in advance if you are
interested.
Thanks to Louisa Pillinger for organising this.

Subs and Winter Training |
 |
|
The first training session for the new season will be run
on Wednesday 31st August at which you can also collect a new Fry's
shirt once you have paid your annual subs and handed in a membership form.
The membership form can be downloaded here.
(The shirt will belong to the club and so will be provided at no cost to
you.) All members
need to submit a new membership form. It may seem a hassle filling one in
each year, but it guarantees that we have your up-to-date contact details in
case of an emergency.
If you wish, you can send your subs and membership
form to Karen Tape at:
Fry's Hockey Club
c/o Karen Tape
71 Southey Avenue,
Kingswood,
Bristol. BS15 1QT
Training will run to the normal timings (see
here if in doubt) and members of the committee will be at the pitch from
6.30pm for the ladies to collect subs/forms and hand out shirts and from
7.30pm for the men. (The start date for junior training has not yet
been decided.)
Since there will be no matches for the first few
weeks, everyone coming to training must pay the usual amount of £2 to cover
the cost of the pitch hire.

Shirts |
|
|
The order for ladies' and men's shirts was placed at the
end of February. The ladies' shirts have now arrived and look very
nice. They are TK Florenz shirts in navy blue with white inserts.
The men's shirts will arrive in about 6 weeks time since they had to be
specially ordered to ensure that the colour matched the ladies'.
At the recent committee meeting it was agreed that these
shirts will belong to the club rather than individual players. As
such, no current players will have to pay for a shirt. Equally, if
someone leaves the club they will be expected to return the shirt.
Since we are so near to the end of the season, it was also decided to
distribute all the shirts in September.
We would like to thank Keynsham Town Council for the
grant that has contributed towards the cost of this purchase.

We are currently taking orders for Fry’s Hockey Club
hoodies. Please let us have your squad number (new members, please ask
your captain), size (borrow a hoody from another player to judge the sizes)
and your name/nickname that you’d like to have on the front of your hoody.
Cost is £14.10 (cheques payable to Fry’s Hockey Club).
Ladies/girls – please send your orders to
Claire Jones and then give her
your cheque. Men/boys – you can give you orders to Claire also, but
if it’s easier, please send your orders to
Richard May and then give
him your cheque which will then be passed onto Claire for you.
Orders and cheques must be with us by end of training
on Wednesday 15th December. All being well, we expect that hoodies
will be available very soon after Christmas.
